Stargazing

Enjoy the night sky like in few places in the world.

In Hermigua we are fortunate both for the place where we live in and for the sky under which we live.
The Canary Islands are recognized by UNESCO as one of the best windows to the universe, thanks to its four Starlight Reserves and two impressive observatories: the Roque de los Muchachos in La Palma and the Teide Observatory in Tenerife.

There is no better place to lose yourself under the beauty of the sky and explore constellations such as Orion, Sagittarius or the Big Dipper than, for example, Alto de Garajonay.

Hermigua is also a privileged setting to observe the sky at night. The overwhelming immensity of a sky full of stars and the nocturnal beauty of the landscape create a magical environment. Excellent atmospheric conditions and clarity make it possible for visitors to enjoy stargazing for most of the year. Without being something that is promoted by the institutions, sadly there is no regulation against light pollution in Hermigua, as it is a very narrow valley with few scattered houses, we can enjoy the stars like in few places.
